High detailed elaboration topographic data

Activities of the High detailed elaboration topographic information central data base (hereinafter – HDETD) is regulated by the Geospatial Information Law and Regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers issued on the basis of this Law.

High detailed elaboration topographic information in Latvia is the most precise cartographic material that indicates both over-ground objects created by nature and human, as well as underground communications. High detailed elaboration topographic information surveying can be performed only by the surveyors certified in geodesic works. State Land Service maintains high detailed elaboration topographic information about the whole territory of Latvia.

High detailed elaboration topographic information is gathered in the form of separate files where each file matches the 1993 topographic map system scale 1:1000 for the sheet of maps divided by administrative borders accordingly to the data provided by the State Address register information system. In total whole territory of Latvia is covered by 281713 map sheets of this kind from which 44352 (on 3.05.2013) provides topographic information.
